Foundation Review: Maybelline White Super Fresh

Since I have a combination skin and it is already summer I need a good foundation that can cover some of my blemishes and has a good staying power.

I bought this Maybelline I white super  fresh liquid powder for 349 pesos. It contains  a  25ml amount of product. they have four shades available on their liquid line and I got the shade N3 Natural.

The packaging is simple and white , it is made out of plastic , has an acrylic lid cup that is sturdy. When you open the cup it has this unique tube where the product comes out.

Product claims

Our unique powder in water formula provides an all day, white fresh, and matte look with a lightweight feel. Perfectly natural, evens complexion without the cakiness and stickiness. Pores, fine lines, and imperfections are instantly minimized. Skin feels soft, smooth and moisturized. 

It has a small indication at the back that says “peel here” where you can find the three simple steps on how to use the product. This has SPF50PA+++ which is very awesome to use for an everyday foundation.

It has a runny consistency that support their claims “to have a powder in water formula”.

Product Application

I have two ways in applying this product

Fingers - Since this is liquidy and easy to blend you can use your fingers to apply and blend the product to your face.  But I don’t like the result of this because it leaves a very matte finish and my face feels very dry, stretch and flaky.

Brush - This is my favorite tool when applying this foundation because it gives me just the right amount of matte finish that I want on my skin, lightweight and manageable.  

Real Deal

 I agree with this when applying the product it will give you a matte finish that looks like you apply a baby powder to your face and it feels lightweight and very dry looking.So, this is an ideal foundation for people who have combination to oily skin.

• Perfectly natural evens complexion without the cakiness and stickiness

I don’t see a natural finish and even complexions after applying this product because it leaves a white effect to your face. No cakiness and stickiness are checked since this will leave you a matte finish effect.

• Pores, fine lines, and imperfections are instantly minimized. 

Yes, it will just minimize but it will not cover all your problems. Because this product is like a 2in1 BB cream, a powder and a liquid foundation combined each other. That is why no need for you to have a setting powder because this product will leave you a matte finish with a powder effect. This foundation is good to those who has small imperfections and if you are looking for good coverage this is not the right foundation for you. You can build this foundation up to two layers of but three layers will leave you with cakiness.

• Skin feels soft, smooth and moisturized. 

Since this has a matte finish the skin will just feel smooth but not soft and moisturize. 

Overall this foundation is good for everyday use, good for oily skin, good for people who needs small coverage but not applicable for people who are looking for superb coverage.

San San BB Cream (Review)

I think this product is a hit and miss to all the Filipino girls out there. I have seen a lot of reviews regarding this BB cream and it is a mixture of pros and cons. That is why I am very intrigue to try this product to see on what would be the result in me.

We all know that San San Cosmetics is one of the most cheapest beauty finds here in the Philippines. Most of their items are student and budget friendly. 

As of now they have two shades of these BB Cream. I think one in Natural which is the lightest color and second in Beige which is their darkest shade. I am more on natural side but when I visit the nearest HBC store here in our place the only thing that's left is their Beige color. I was quite hesitant to get this color because its a little bit dark on my skin tone., but I was really eager to try this product so I decided to get it even if the shade is darker from my natural skin tone. 

I bought this San San BB Cream for only P150.00 and it contains 30mL amount of product. It says in the product description that it has Squalane, Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamins A+C+E and SPF 43 which I think the product content is really good for the skin.

It also claims to lighten dark spots, nourishes skin, protects skin from sun damage and with anti oxidant 

Almost every product has the same claims, but we can only prove these claims if we test them out on ourselves. 

Packaging:

One good thing on this product is that it is not messy at all because it has a pump tube, that  you can control the amount of product you just want to use. It has a very simple packaging nothing is fancy.

Product

This product is not too thick it has a medium coverage and it really feels light weight into the skin (that is what I am expecting to a BB cream). Surprisingly BB creams should be light weight with light coverage it will just even out your skin tone but this BB cream "almost "cover all my blemishes specially the small imperfections. Though one pump is not enough to cover my entire face but two pump is more then enough to cover everything, but you still need to use concealers for your severe blemishes because this product can't do all the magic you want. It is a bit dark on my skin ,it oxidizes a little but still it is bit dark so I just used a lighter face powder to set up the BB cream.

Scent:

For those scent conscious, this product has only a very minimal scent, (signature scent of almost every San San beauty products)

Longevity

I live here in Baguio City and the weather  is a bit different from the other parts of the Philippines but still ,I have a combination skin, most of the time I had my oiliest part of my face on my T-zone area. And before buying this product most of the reviews on this is not good for oily skin, so that is why I did not apply any moisturizer on my face before using this, and I did not also use any primer because I want to test the longevity of the product. Well surprisingly the outcome of this product for me is not that oily, it last me almost 3 hrs before my sebaceous glands starts to produce oil and the product is really there even if I'am sweating. At the end of the day when I remove my make up using a baby wipes still it is there seems like nothings change. But for a day I did three touch up of face powder to control the ongoing oiliness. 

PROS:

• This BB cream is very light weight into the skin.
• It has a medium Coverage, that covers all your small blemishes
• Longevity will last up to three hours.
• It has a very minimal scent
• Sweat proof
• Not sticky
• Very good for those people who has normal to dry skin type.
• Best thing is budget friendly

CONS

• Bit dark on my skin tone
• Only two shades are available
• Does not last you all day
• If your an oily person like me, this product will last you three hours and
• You need  three touch ups for the rest of the day
• Can not do all the magic you want
• If you don't like to keep on retouching ,use a primer to prolong the longevity of the product.

I hope this review can help you on choosing a cheap but good find product. I highly recommend this product to all those students and budget conscious to try this product. This is not high end but it really gives a trick.

Nichido Foundation Stick + 4U2 Dream Girl Bb Powder ( Pinay Review)

I have been too lazy this past month on blogging and reviewing products that I've got. But I am back on tract  and I have a product review on the  Nichido Foundation Stick and 4U2 Dream Girl Bb Powder Foundation

Nichido cosmetics is one of the most affordable and budget friendly make up finds in the Philippine market. You can see Nichido counters I think almost all branches of Watsons and SM Department stores Nation Wide.

I just got a new product from Nichido and it is their Foundation Stick. I only bought it for only P150.00 and it contains 9mL amount of product, which I think it is a good pay off for everyday use.

The product is so creamy, that glides on the skin smoothly and very easy to blend. It does have a smell, that I think it is tolerable specially for those who are scent conscious. 

It has a light weight coverage, that is perfect for the summer  because it evens out my skin tone and gives me a fresher look. (I am just concealing my problem areas and other blemishes I need to hide.) 

It has a dewy finish and because I have a combination skin, I am not applying any moisturizer, because the product it self is moisturizing already. 

You need to set this foundation with a setting powder to reduce the dewiness.  

I love using these foundation stick for everyday use, especially this summer even thou it doesn't have a full coverage, it gives me just the right amount of product that I wanted. We don't need to load tons of make up in our face, because here in the Philippines You can not beat the heat and humidity for applying tons of make in your face , “less is more”.

And another thing I love about these product, its very light weight and it gives you fresh looking face, that seems like your not wearing any foundation, and that’s very good to wear for natural summer time look.

The only down side of these product is 

1. Dewy Finish, so for combination skin like mine you don't need to apply any moisturizer and you need a setting powder, setting spray or use primer before applying

2. For oily to combination skin you need to retouch often because this will not last you all day.

3. Not full coverage

But all in all for me this is a good product to wear for summer , because

1. Its, light weight

2. It gives you fresh face effect

3. NO irritating smell

4. Easy and quick to use, so you can easily throw in your bag for retouching

Lastly I think this is good for working girls and also students who often beats there time in the morning in preparing a quick look.

4U2 Dream Girl Bb Powder

I did a several attempt of product review with this BB powder from 4U2 Cosmetics, and the result is really an epic fail. But I watched and read a lot of product reviews about these BB Powder and its been a raved for all the beauty enthusiast.

Atlas after my 3rd attempt of reviewing I now see why its been a sensation to all the beauties out there. Though I already hit the pan, before I manage to take a photo on it.

Packaging

Its a very girly type of packaging, and the details “sugar and spice and everything nice” reminds of the cartoon “power puff girls”. It is very compact to use, but the only thing I don't like is that it has a very small mirror that I don't use,because I like large mirrors where I can see my entire face, that is why I need to carry another one with me. And the sponge applicator that came with the product is so disposable, it is not a very good sponge,because it is very thin and not good for applying the powder.

Product

These product claims that it is a Confidence builder, Complexion Perfection , evens out the skin tone, and it helps with oil control.

There are only three shades of these product and I got the shade No.3, which is a little bit dark on my skin tone, but after the powder oxidizes it matches into my skin tone. I had a combination skin, and most of the time I got oily on my T-zone area., that is why I really need to carry on a powder or blotting sheets. My first review on this product is really an epic fail, because I only used this as my foundation through out the day and the effect is really irritating, because it dries out my skin so badly and its very caky, and after an hour it start to itch around my mouth and chin area. But it really gives me a very matte finish through out the day.

That is why I decided to discontinue using the product because of the irritation I encounter, but then I heard a lot of good feed back to this powder so I decided to give it another try, then the result was very good.

I used it as my setting powder for liquid and stick foundations, and it really helps to reduce the oiliness on my T - zone area. But I have a tiny bit of concern ,after applying the Bb powder as a setting powder for my liquid foundation my skin really felt so heavy but after it oxidizes it matches my skin tone,I felt a flawless finish that seems like I did not put any foundation ,it matches my complexion and not worrying that it is too dark for my skin, but it takes 5 to 10 mins, before the product oxidizes.

 

This is also a budget friendly make up finds, I only got this for P 198.00, and I bought this at Watson. I already hit the pan because I used this non stop as my daily ritual on my face. Hence I lived here in Baguio City where the weather is a bit different from the other places here in the Philippines, the product really stays longer but not the entire day, but it really helps a lot for oil controlling specially if you have the same skin type as mine "combination to oily skin". 

PROS

• It has no irritating smell, which I think very good for those scent conscious
• Very good for everyday use, and very compact so it is easy to use for touch ups.
• For combination to oily skin like mine it mattifies the face up to 6 hours with out retouching.
• Very good for setting liquid foundations.
• It has a very fine texture that seems like a baby powder, so it gives a flawless finish
• It oxidizes and matches your complexion 
• Budget friendly

CONS

• It takes 5 to 10 mins after the product oxidizes and matches your skin tone.
• It irritates the skin if it use only by it self, so it is better to use tinted moisturizer before applying the product, so that it will give a base on your skin.
• It feels so heavy on the skin but after it oxidizes, it gives a lightweight finish

All in all I love using this product and surely I will repurchase again after hitting the pan. These two products are good for everyday use specially for those students and working ladies who always beats there time in the morning, but wants to look fresh and radiant all day.

NICHIDO True Colors Liquid Foundation

I lived here in Baguio city where development is slow in rising as well in fashion and new trends. So finding

branded clothes and make up is very hard, I still need to go browse the internet and go for online shopping, and that will cost me a lot just for shipping the item. That is why I decided to try the local makeup finds that is available here in our place. We just have Watsons, HBC grocery beauty shops and some department stores just like SM where we can buy beauty stuffs, but they don’t have a wide variety of makeups.

Every time I go to buy beauty stuffs, I often passed by the Nichido counter, well I already got their eye pencil with smudging sponge which is I do not like the pencil but I like the sponge on it, and I also have their foundation stick that I love and it’s my go to foundation. ( I will have my review on the stick foundation soon..) and now I got a new product from their line it is the NICHIDO “True Colors Liquid Foundation.” I had a pros and cons to this product but before going their lets have first the...

Packaging

I like the packaging it is very simple with small details it is not over the top, it contains the product information written in two dialects English and Chinese. The container is made up of glass with a simple details and it comes with a pump tube with lock. The pump is very convenient because it allows you to control the amount of product plus it has a lock, that is why you will not be bothered to just throw in your bag or any makeup pouch and get messy because the bottle is very secure.

Real Deal

I have a combination skin, my T-zone is the most oily part and the rest of my face is dry, I also got lots of blemishes and some redness that is going around my skin that needs to be covered. Every time I go to buy for a new foundation I always got the matte finish because of the skin type I have. For this new product it says here that,,,

• Water base - yup, and I kinda like it because its light weight, seems like I do not have any foundation on my face.
• Smooth Liquid  - yup,  Because it is water base.
• Natural Satin Finish -  Well I did not experience this one on my face after applying because it gives me a super matte finish. It dries quickly
• Gives skin an even tone without accentuating imperfections - Nope because even after I finished applying my first pump of application still I can see some imperfections on my face. But it did cover some small problems I got and for second pump of application might cause caking.
• Blends gently -  Okay it dries up easily so it is a little bit harder to blend.

PROS:

1. Cheap, coast only P268.00
2. Available in all PH Department Stores
3. Dries up easily, has a matte finish
4. No scent
5. Light weight
6. It did not cause me breakouts 
7. For combination skin matte finish will last up to 6 hrs.
8. Very good for normal type skin and with small imperfections
9. Compliments the skin tone after oxidizing 
10. Not itchy or irritating even after 10hrs of wearing

CONS

1.  Two pumps of application will cost caking
2. After applying it seems so white, it takes for awhile after it oxidize and compliments the skin tone
3. No effect of satin finish on my skin
4. Does not have a full coverage
5. Will not last all day
6.  For oily type to combination skin exceeding 4 or 6 hrs, of wearing will cause the sebaceous gland to react meaning severe oiliness will cost you.
